Option 1 — Growing food: Have you ever grown food yourself, e.g. in a windowsill pot, balcony, or a community garden? Which plant(s) did you grow? Which soil did you use? What went well or poorly (watering, nutrients, pests)? What would you do differently next time?

Option 2 — Object life cycle: Choose a favourite item in your room. What materials is it made from? Trace those materials to their origins. Where does soil enter the story (plant-based fibres, timber, mined minerals, packaging)?
